Presented by Google: Closed-Loop Incident Resolution with Gemini CLI + Datadog MCP Server
About this Session
Every developer knows the pain: something breaks in production, and teams are stuck bouncing between monitoring dashboards, terminals, code editors, Slack, and GitHub, trying to piece together what went wrong, fix it, and verify the fix held. What if teams never had to leave the terminal?
This session unveils a closed-loop incident resolution workflow using Google’s Gemini CLI and Datadog MCP Server. A live demo shows how an SRE can detect a production issue, diagnose the root cause, generate a fix, deploy it, and confirm resolution, all within a single Gemini CLI session.
The session covers the seven-step closed loop from Datadog detection through MCP Server root cause analysis, Gemini CLI-based fixes, and automated verification, as well as the role of Datadog MCP Server as the context bridge that eliminates context switching between monitoring, diagnosis, and code. It also includes a live demo of a real production incident resolved end-to-end in under five minutes within the terminal, the impact of zero context switching on SRE productivity, MTTR, and developer experience, and how agentic AIOps and LLM agents are reshaping incident response.
